What’s New in CloudBolt CMP: 2025 Roadmap Highlights

Cloud management is evolving fast — and so are we.

At CloudBolt, we’ve made significant investments in our Hybrid Cloud Management platform (CMP), reimagining how organizations simplify, unify, and optimize infrastructure across clouds and hypervisors.

In our latest customer webinar, we walked through the newest product enhancements and previewed what’s ahead in 2025. This blog recaps those updates and offers a look at how our roadmap is helping organizations drive real results through smarter automation, deeper visibility, and more control.

UX That Works the Way You Do

A modern platform experience should feel intuitive, flexible, and aligned to how teams work. That’s why we’re rolling out a major refresh of the CMP user experience, starting with expanded customizability and interface control.

Recent and upcoming enhancements include:

  • Custom forms for all operations: Custom forms, previously limited to blueprint deployments, are now supported across server and resource actions, allowing for more tailored user experiences.
  • Theme support and list view templates: Teams can now define how data is displayed, choose which columns are sortable, and customize tabs and layouts based on context or role.
  • UI convergence across platforms: Visual alignment with StormForge and other CloudBolt tools is underway to provide a consistent, unified experience across our product suite.

This isn’t just a cosmetic refresh—it’s a strategic upgrade designed to empower teams with the flexibility they need to move faster.

Flow Control: Built-In Guardrails for Provisioning

Cloud environments don’t pause for maintenance—but now your provisioning workflows can.

With our new flow control capability, you can pause provisioning during planned outages or infrastructure updates, and resume it automatically when the environment is ready. Requests aren’t lost or failed—they’re simply queued.

Highlights include:

  • Queueing instead of failure during downtime
  • Granular filters by vCenter, cluster, environment, or namespace
  • Support for custom business logic via CloudBolt plugins
  • Delegated control and role-based permissions

Flow control helps reduce operational noise, prevent errors, and ensure more predictable provisioning—even in complex environments.

Orchestration That Adapts to You

We’re continuing to evolve orchestration in CloudBolt CMP to reflect the complexity and variability of real-world infrastructure operations.

New capabilities include:

  • Composable blueprints: Users can now assemble infrastructure environments using a component-based, shopping cart-style approach. This eliminates the need to maintain dozens of static blueprints.
  • Entity actions beyond servers: Orchestrate and automate actions for templates, resource handlers, and other non-VM entities.
  • Granular RBAC for blueprint access: Limit visibility and access to specific blueprints and actions based on role or resource context.

These features are designed to improve both Day 1 provisioning and Day 2 operations, giving teams more power to automate, govern, and scale effectively.

DevOps Enablement and Source Control Integration

To better support GitOps practices and DevOps workflows, we’ve introduced a series of enhancements that bring source control deeper into the platform experience.

What’s new:

  • Actions as Code (AaC): Synchronize resource actions, forms, and configurations with GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, and more.
  • Prescribed repository structures: Flattened file structures and reusable plugin references simplify version control and reduce duplication.
  • Read-only sync in production: Enforce governance by locking production environments to source-controlled content.

We’re also building toward zero-touch provisioning—allowing teams to deploy full CloudBolt environments from source, including user roles, group mappings, blueprints, and infrastructure handlers.

StormForge Integration: Smarter Kubernetes Optimization

With the recent StormForge acquisition, CloudBolt is now delivering integrated Kubernetes performance optimization within the CMP experience.

StormForge’s machine learning-powered insights allow platform and FinOps teams to:

  • Continuously rightsize Kubernetes workloads based on real-time data
  • Tune performance based on business policies and cost targets
  • Replace manual tuning with automated, policy-aligned actions

The result is improved reliability, lower costs, and faster performance tuning—without adding operational burden.

What’s Ahead

Our 2025 roadmap for CloudBolt CMP is focused across four key strategic themes:

  1. User experience and customization: A more modern, configurable, and unified interface across products.
  2. Platform orchestration and governance: New entity actions, flow control, and blueprint composability.
  3. DevOps integration and GitOps support: End-to-end source control and environment versioning.
  4. Ecosystem expansion: Continued support for emerging hypervisors, vaults, and Kubernetes use cases.

We’re building a platform that doesn’t just respond to complexity—it helps you outpace it.

        Where to Go from Here

If you’re ready to take the next step with CloudBolt CMP, here are a few ways to dive deeper:

Cloud management is more critical—and more complex—than ever. With CloudBolt CMP, you don’t have to manage it alone.
